About MHOP

Amplifying The Collective Voice Of Service Families.

MHOP is an organization documenting the conditions inside privatized military housing — and pressing the institutions responsible to fix them.

About MHOP

Why We Exist.

America’s military families live with black mold, lead paint, and dangerous neglect in homes Congress pays private contractors to maintain. Those same contractors pled guilty to defrauding the federal government — and still hold the contracts.

MHOP exists to amplify the collective voice of service families and drive change in privatized military housing nationwide.

Our Origin

Spouses Who Lived It.

MHOP started with a small group of military spouses who lived with black mold, lead paint, and unresponsive contractors — and watched individual complaints disappear into the system.

What began as peer support became structured documentation. Today, MHOP amplifies the collective voice of thousands of service families who refuse to let the next family face these conditions alone.

Our Approach

How We Work.

MHOP takes a documented, family-led approach to housing reform. Three steps move the work from individual experience to systemic change.

01

Document.

Service families document their firsthand experiences with privatized military housing and the wider system that allows the conditions to continue.

02

Report.

Service families report those experiences to us privately and securely. We never share their identity with anyone, without exception.

03

Change.

We combine their reports with our independent investigations to build the evidence that turns documented harm into change.

Nonpartisan

We Are Independent.

We do not accept funding from Congress, the Department of Defense, or any privatized military housing contractor. MHOP is entirely self-funded, nonpartisan, and operationally independent.

Our Privacy Promise

We Never Share Your Identity. Period.

We do not share your identity with anyone. Not with the housing companies. Not with the DoD. MHOP holds your identity privately, so reporting on your housing never puts you or your family at risk.
